Hair BUT more importantly Scalp
The End is nearer than you think if you have only been addressing your bitter ends. The SCALP is where it all begins. I love my hair and in order to keep it healthy from the inside out, I must add a new routine to my life. I know what your thinking, I don't have time for one more thing. But honestly, your hair is more important to you than most things in life, or maybe it's just that way for me.
With so many products on the shelf today and Instagram creators advising you on what's right for them must be right for you, that is so not the case. Its time to get to the root of the problem, literally.
It all starts in the blood vessels and the cells fed the root which host the follicles. The follicle pushes it way through the dermis and epidermis. These two words commonly used in skin care are making there appearance in the hair world. Our skin on our scalp is continuation of our skin on our face and body. Our scalp protects those follicles like a mother protects her baby.
For years we have been devoted to saving our split ends but there will be nothing to save if we don't start treating our scalp like we do our face.
Here are some suggestions for creating a clean and happy growing mane of hair.
First, Purify, and exfoliate your scalp, There are a few products I love. I want this to be easy as it should be done first thing before you hit the shower. I love Aveda for their gentle plant friendly ingredients, and easy to use applicator. This exfoliator is a liquid and has no little particles to break down. Emulsify onto the scalp step in the shower and add some shampoo before rinsing.
Secondly, Renew that scalp with Aveda overnight serum, a liquid that I refer to as ( highly additive). It calms irritated, itchy scalp instantly. This is good for anyone who see's white residue on their black t-shirts, pssst that is from your scalp.
Thirdly, Protect that layer of skin, you are looking for something that is easy to use and helps protect from environmental aggressors, but most importantly reduces oil production and odour. I love working out and this protective mist from Aveda helps me feel clean and refreshed without shampooing.
I'm a good resource for external scalp issues, if your not sure its your scalp that is blocking your mane from rocking then it would be best to speak with a health professional. Internal issues play a key role in a healthy cell.
